With this quarter's release, four features have received significant upgrades and added enhancements — service management, the ability to generate PDF documents, design template management, and business approval controls.
🆕 New Features and Functionality
🏷️ Service Management
- Last quarter, we updated the list view making it much easier to navigate your list of standard service offerings.
- This quarter, we’ve continued the work, modernizing the user interface used to manage the details of service offerings.
- We’ve worked to make it easier than ever for you to create your services and sub-services, manage their descriptions, and associate them with terms and products.
- We’ve also added ‘Version History’ to services. Version history tracks all changes related to the service, making it much easier for admins to know what changed about their standard offerings and when.
- We’ve also made the filters on the list of services persistent, making it much easier to pick up where you left off in managing your services.
- The new tab is displayed only to users with ‘View’ or ‘Manage’ permissions for the new privilege. If the current user has ‘Manage’ for the new privilege, then the user may also revert the state of the service to it’s state prior to an individual change. By default, the Admin role has received ‘Manage’ permissions and all other roles have ‘None’.

🏷️ Generate PDF Documents
- When you’re creating documents in ScopeStack, we know a lot of you are taking that Word document and immediately converting it to a PDF to send to your clients. We’ve recently made that even easier, allowing you to create a PDF directly out of the ScopeStack platform when generating your documentation.
- When generating a document for a project, you will now have the option to “Convert Word Document to PDF”. When this option is selected, any document generated using a Word-based Document Template will be converted to PDF. This is helpful for creating documents to share with clients with a guarantee that the document cannot be modified after delivery.
🏷️ Document Template Management
- We’ve also worked to make the experience of managing document templates easier.
- We’ve Modernized the user interface
- We’ve given you new ways to customize your file names, so you can generate documents out of the ScopeStack platform that fit your company-preferred naming system
- If no “Filename” options are defined, files will be generated with the standard “<project-name>-<client-name>-<date>.docx” format.List of document templates and ability to recover archived document templates.New detail page with ability to change filename formatting.
🏷️ Business Approval Controls
- We’ve added more control to your approval workflow, allowing you to further define who can approve what projects.
- Replicated the ability to permit the pre-sales engineer to approve their own projects and to restrict approval to a team. This will make it even easier for companies with regional offices to focus the approval process within each region, if desired.
- In support of the above change, the teams of each user in the approval process are listed alongside the user name. This will help to review that all regions are covered.
➕ Other Recent Updates
- Renamed “Project Variables” to “User Defined Fields” in order to better convey their use in contexts other than Project data (e.g., services, products, etc).
- Bug Fix: Editing line 2 of an account address under “My Account”
- Bug Fix: When creating a Vendor Quote, the list of vendors in the vendor dropdown should filter as the name is typed.
