Exciting new platform updates, check it out!
π New Features and Functionality
πΊπΌ Project Resources
We've distinguished between the Standard Resources from Settings and the Resources you've added to a Project. Professional Services > Services, Project Governance items, and Travel & Expense items now have a dropdown for Resources that allows users to pick from two "option groups" β Project Resources and Standard Resources. The Project Resources are the specific Resource-instances already on your Project, and the Standard Resources are the resources referenced in the Rate Table for your Project.
This update continues our work towards making Projects more customizable from the standards in settings, as now all of the resource instances on your Project are entirely independent of the Standard Resources in Settings.
π·οΈ Project Tags
You can now provide a Comma Separated List of Tags on the Project Overview screen for a Project.
Next, you can filter your list of Projects by the available tags.
We hope this makes the management of your Projects easier! Feedback? Please, let us know how we can make this more useful!
π Other Recent Updates
-
Level of Effort Rounding: We've added the ability to round the level of Effort of Governance and other calculated items. You can set the LOE rounding amount in your Account Settings next to the Level of Effort Unit.
-
You can now create Line of Business (LOB) and Service Category (SC)-specific Resource instances. Services in a Project in a specified LOB and SC can have a different rate/cost from the same Resource attached to a Service in a different LOB or SC combination. Since you can define rates at multiple levels, an SC-specific rate will override a LOB-specific rate, and a LOB-specific rate will override a general rate.
-
On a Rate Table, you can now add additional instances of those resources at the LOB/SC level.
-
When you add a Service to a Project, the platform determines if the Rate Table assigned to the Project contains an LOB/SC-specific resource, and creates a Project Resource for that LOB/SC if necessary.
-
Adding a LOB/SC specific Resouce to a Rate Table...
There are now two Engineers: One for all LOBs, and one for the Collaboration LOB specifically.
When I create a Project using this Rate Table and add a Collaboration LOB service, the Service is added using the Collaboration instance of the Engineer LOB, where applicable.
-
You can now specify an SKU value for Standard Professional and Managed Services available for use while adding a Service to a Project and in Merge Data.
-
We've also increased the specificity of the LOE field in the Professional Services > Services screen to 4 decimal places.
-
We've allowed you to update the Resource Cost on a per-Project basis! You can see the new column available in the Resources section of your Project. You can enable this permission in your Role settings using the permission called Projects Resource Costs.
-
When you update a Survey, Services that use Variable Rates should now function as expected.
-
For Document Template authors, we've added several cost-related Merge Data keys for use in creating reports. We've also added several Resource-related structures at the Line of Business and Service Category levels.
