Exciting new platform updates, check it out!
๐ฅ Release Rundown
Watch a rundown of this feature release here!
๐ New Features and Functionality
-
๐ Managed Services: Managed services allow you to create standard services and sub-services to offer to your customers, add them to a project, define a term, and generate documentation much like you would a Professional Services project today. You can also create a custom Managed Service project using the scope editor, much like building a custom professional service project.
-
In the editor, you can define MSA ("Managed Service Agreement") language, as well as language for any of the language fields in your account.
-
On the MS Pricing page, you can then define the contract's length, the start date, and the billing frequency.
-
Any managed service agreement template can utilize these fields to generate based on the merge fields used. All managed services merge data is available under the "managed_services" data object viewable in the Merge Data. You can also use our boiler-plate Managed Services document that utilizes Out of Scope Language via the "out" language field.
You can pay for a one-time engagement with our Client Services team to develop a custom Managed Services document template for your use. Send us a message via Intercom or to support@scopestack.io via email today to get started.
-
๐ Watermarked PDFs of Documents: You can now force all unapproved projects in your account to download as watermarked PDFs. This setting is accessible in Account Settings. Note that the web-based rendering of the PDF may disrupt certain design elements.
-
โ Complex Technical Approval: Finally, by popular demand, we have taken the more complex Business Approval flow settings we rolled out in the last feature release and applied them to Technical Approval as well, giving you the ability to define much more robust approval systems in our platform.
-
๐ป Separation of Materials and Tasks: To better support materials pricing, we have broken materials away from Professional Services tasks. Now, you can create materials directly in settings and on a project. Tasks can be added directly to a project or attached to a Professional or Managed service. If they are attached, whenever a user adds that task or service to a project, the platform will add the material too. We've migrated all existing task/material combinations to this new schema.
-
๐ Hip New Lingo and Moved Functions: To support the release of managed services, we have changed a few labels and moved some things around the platform:
-
Tasks are the units of Professional Services. In Settings, the area for these standards is called Professional Services Tasks.
-
Services are the units of Managed Services. In Settings, the area for these standards is called Managed Services.
-
Also, in Settings, SOW Templates has been renamed to Document Templates.
-
Inside a project, The Scope Editor is now Professional Services, Managed Services, and Materials.
-
Pricing has been broken into Professional Services Pricing (PS Pricing), Managed Services Pricing (MS Pricing), and Overall Pricing.
-
Payment Terms has moved from the Project Overview to the PS Pricing page as payment terms apply only to Professional Services.
-
Work Breakdown has moved under the Professional Services section for similar reasons.
๐ทNotable Bug Fixes
-
โ๐ป DocuSign Integration: We have plugged some holes in our DocuSign Integration, allowing direct e-signature support from the platform. You can learn more and set this up here.
-
๐ Cleaning up Permissions: After the rollout of Role-Based control in Q4, we have been cleaning up spots where permissions may have gotten a bit out of sorts. If you spot something odd, please let us know!
-
๐ Force Regeneration: You can now force the platform to re-generate any document after you've made a change in your project. The regeneration function is handy if you have made a change that doesn't seem to get reflected; check the box in the generate dialogue to force regeneration!
