πŸŽ₯ Platform Update Rundown

Watch a video summary of this Platform Update here from Alex on our Support Team.

πŸ†• New Features and Functionality

πŸ”Œ Open API

We're excited to release our enhanced API officially. You can now directly access your account data. Today, you have the ability to read all data related to Projects in your account and write Project Overview-related data, including the ability to create new Projects via API. The Role-Based Access Control permissions govern access on the authenticating user account.

Over the coming weeks and months, we are working to introduce reading and writing to additional parts of our database.

πŸ“„ Updated CSV Import Function

We've overhauled the way we import services into the account via CSV. We've made it much more flexible by allowing you to map content to attributes in the platform, and the importer isn't as sensitive to small variations in the CSV file type.

You can learn about the new CSV Import process in our article here (ScopeStack Users only):

πŸ†• Other Recent Updates

Here are a few other notable tweaks we've made since our last release:

  • πŸ’° Payment Credits: We've added a way for you to track vendor credit programs in your accounts, such as those from Cisco and Microsoft. You can create the program in Settings and then add specific dollar amount credits to Projects. The platform can then calculate a Customer Payment independent of your total Project revenue and display both in your Project documentation.

  • πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ’ΌFlexible Sales Executive Field: You can now create Sales Executives independent of Users in your account. When you add a new User, you can still select them to be added to the list of Sales Executives. You can also navigate directly to the Sales Executives area under Users & Groups and create an executive with their contact information. You can even directly type one in on your Project! Once you've used one in your Project, the platform will add them to the list, so you update them later.

  • πŸ“‘ Duplicating a Service as-is within a Project: You can now duplicate a service within a Project, keeping any updates to the effort, subservices, and language you may have made. This is handy if you need to do the same customized service at multiple locations.

  • 🏷 Resource Name and Descriptions: You can now define an "external name" and a "description" for a resource in Settings, which gets carried into a Project when you add a service to your Project that references that service. You can then update that Resource's Description on a per-Project basis as needed and choose to use the external name in your document to give it a cleaner look.

  • 🧱 Custom Materials in a Project: You can now add custom materials to your Projects on a per-Project basis.

πŸ“… Next Scheduled Release

Currently, we've planned our next release for the first week of November. Let us know any questions here! We plan to share the specific features in the release three to four weeks in advance.
