Major Features and Upgrades
📑 New Document Generation Process!!
Over the past several months, the ScopeStack development team has been working toward a new and faster document generation process.
This update focuses on two areas:

Generating the data that merges into the document

Merging the content to produce project-specific documents
Key improvements:

Data generation time reduced by over 90%
-
Content merging now completes in less than a second
-
New industry-standard template format (no more Mail Merge fields!)

Full support for Word, PowerPoint, and Excel document formats
Important:
To take advantage of these improvements, new Document Templates must be created.

🎛️ Merge Fields Within Service and Subservice Content
Service Descriptions and Subservice language fields now support dynamic merge fields!
You can insert project-specific data into your service text by using double curly braces () around the field name.
Example:
"Install routers at the customer site."

New Flow for Adding Services
Adding services to projects just got easier with a new streamlined experience!

On the Professional Services and Managed Services pages, there is now a single "Add Services" button.

A new dialog will guide you through adding services via Surveys, Blueprints, and Standard Services.

Search, filter, and confirm services before adding them to the project.
The "Add Custom Services" option remains unchanged.
Vendor Quotes
Several improvements have been made to Vendor Quotes to improve clarity and flexibility:

Billing Method field added to specify Time & Materials or Fixed Fee

General Information refined to clarify cost derivation options
-
Revenue fields now show how much the client will be charged
-
Separate Markup/Margin fields when quotes include recurring services
Important:
ScopeStack now uses Margin-based revenue calculation by default instead of Markup.
For example, a 30% margin will set a $1,000 cost quote to $1,428.57 instead of $1,300.
Notes:

Accounts with 5+ quotes as of November 15, 2024, will continue using Markup.

Contact Support if you would like to switch your account to Margin calculation.

Previous quotes will retain their original method to preserve historical accuracy.
Optional Terms & Conditions
You can now configure Terms & Conditions to be either Required or Optional!

Required: Automatically included in every new project

Optional: Visible on the project, but initially Excluded until manually included
Note:
Terms & Conditions are assigned to the project when it is created.
Required Travel & Expense Items
Travel & Expense items can now also be set as Required or Optional:

Required: Automatically added to new projects (quantity/rate set to zero by default)

Optional: Can be added manually as before
All existing Travel & Expense items will default to Optional to maintain backward compatibility.
Rich Text Editor Support
We are introducing a Rich Text Editor for Markdown-supported fields!
First areas receiving this update:

Bold, bullet points, and other formatting without needing Markdown syntax

Common keyboard shortcuts supported (e.g., CTRL + B for bold)
Duplicate for All Locations
Multi-site projects just became much easier to configure!
A new "Duplicate for All Locations" menu option is available when working with services:

Quickly duplicate a service across all project locations

Saves time when configuring large projects
